Thanks
very adequate and affordable for anyone.
oh MAN. these are so cool and fun. most of them can be played intuitively with ease, tho a couple of the higher key harps really make ya work for those high notes lol. you can't beat the price, and i honestly like them more than the two marine band harps i got (i still have a lot of learning to go though). i feel like i kept reading they are hard to bend and i disagree! depends on which one you're picking up though. i have found that there is kind of like, a gross flavor i get in my mouth after playing and i'm wondering if something can be done about that, but otherwise over the moon with the performance of these little guys. so much smaller length wise than i was expecting but so cute!
I'm a teacher and so that affords me a lot of time off. Over this past Summer I've been watching a lot of Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and he always does his "mouth organ" bit with guests, some of whom can really play. So I thought to myself, "I'd like to learn how to play the harmonica", so I jumped on Sweetwater and searched for them, and this set caught my eye because of what you get for the price. I placed my order, paid extra for second day shipping, and about twenty minutes later I got a text and a call from a sales rep saying he was personally seeing to it that my order was being taken care of. Thanks, Ryan. A little while later he sent the tracking number, then come the next day, I had my harmonicas. They're a nice set, and as a beginner, they're not too intimidating. I've been practicing with them ever since I got them and I'm already hitting the proper notes. The only thing I can't seem to be able to do with them is bend the notes, but that just may be due to my inexperience. After some time, and experience, I'll step it up a notch to a Hohner Marine Band. In the meantime, these will do just fine.
As a harmonica player, I love to give these to my friends who are new parents. Everyone jokes how I give a present that is loud. But the reality is that most parents love when their toddlers bounce along to music and play the xylophone and send videos off to everyone they know. These are nice as they are nicely in tune (diatonically at least). They are more quiet than most harmonicas, which I see as positive for a beginner player. And Ill admit that if one of mine goes out of tune I can pick up one of these and they are quite playable and in tune. Ive given no less in than 10 sets of these as gifts. I would absolutely recommend to adult beginners as well. Upgrade if you like but they are good to start out for anyone.
